For the past week or so there has been a bulge on my neck. It's gotten worse as the week has gone on.

I woke up Thursday morning in the most intense pain, unable to roll over or sit up without bursting into tears. So, I went into the walk-in clinic in Everett. The doctor looked at me, prescribed me some generic vicodin and sent me on my way. As the day went on, it got worse.

I woke up this morning, the bulge twice as big as it was the day before. I decided to drive to a walk-in clinic in Fairhaven. Of course, it was closed and they didn't have anything on the website saying they were closed. Then I proceeded to drive all the way down to Stanwood to the walk-in clinic down there. The doctor down there actually gave a crap. I liked him. He stole my blood. I'm deathly afraid of needles, so I really didn't like that. He prescribed me some antibiotics.

Later in the evening he called me with the results to my blood work. White count was off and he thought I had an abscess on my neck and told me to go to the ER.

I drive off to the ER and get registered and get taken in the back. I had to get a CT scan so I had to pee in a cup to make sure I wasn't pregnant. There's no way I could be, but I had to do it anyways. After that, they had to stick an IV in me. This was the second time I've ever had an IV. I don't like needles, as I said before. An EMT was hanging out in the ER area and he was extremely nice; his name was Aaron. He put in the IV, but I jerked away and it came out. I was howling. Then the nurse came in, his name was Patrick, and he stuck me again with a numbing injection and stuck ANOTHER IV in my arm. I was not a happy Tina. 4 holes in my arms. T_T They then put me through the CT scan and injected some iodine in me. Not a great feeling. Kind of threw up. They looked at the CT scan and I did indeed have an abscess on my neck. Luckily it's small enough that I don't need surgery and meds will work. They gave me some pain meds, a steroid, stole some more blood and they gave me some antibiotics. Once I was a bit out of it, I decided to talk to the guy in the curtained room next to me. He was nice. I was pretty out of it at that point. Yay pain meds.

I am home now with my 3 prescriptions. I have to go back in on Monday to see the ENT. I will be better, I'm already feeling better. Thank you everyone who's been worried. My neck still hurts, but it already feels better.
